Is your RAM the problem?

Many PCs start hanging over time, and no matter how many disk defrags, disk checkers and scan disks you run, nothing seems to correct the problem of the randomly freezing machine.  In some cases there may be a hardware fault such as faulty PSU, motherboard issues or hard drive failure.  But, sometimes its the simple things that can correct this problem.  Failing memory is a common problem leading to computers freezing.  Simply open the case, find out where the RAM is located, and replace the RAM with a like for like module. Sometimes just after the computer starts you will hear beeps, and this could be further indication of faulty RAM modules.

Once replaced, fire up the machine and see whether or not the computer hangs.  If it doesn't then you know that this common fault has been resolved.
